I was watching some old footage of the Beatles and Rolling Stones dating back to gigs they did in 60’s and quite a few times they were wearing suits and ties. It look really weird, but maybe the TV stations wouldn’t let them perform if they weren’t dressed formally!

Even though I’m not a fan of jazz(no, I didn’t really ‘like’ this), I can still agree that they’re/he’s good, or even very good. I just don’t really fancy jazz.

Nope. He played differently as in the style, what he did. Like how Jimi Hendrix is said to be before his time. At the time, no one played like that. He opened peoples minds.

You guys read too much into things. How about just watching the video, listening to the music and appreciating how great it is, rather than just trying to look for errors and loopholes in my comments about it. lol

By which you’re implying that musicians today are more able then those say, nearly 50 years ago?
I actually thought more current drummers could learn from him, that it is possible to play drums without bashing ten barrels of shit out of them.

I dispute the “ahead of his time” comment. Just because someone’s good at something doesn’t mean they should be living in a more current era.

Celebrate the good things about the past. In being at a time before now, this man’s talents can be rediscovered by generation after generation. If he was born tomorrow, think how many people would have missed out.
