A Day in the Life of a Portal Turret

I loved Portal and I would say it’s probably my Game Of The Year for 2007. This should be on your required-playing lists so if you haven’t played it yet, make sure you take the time out of your Halo 3 marathons, (or box socials or whatever it is you young whippersnappers are up to nowadays), and get it.

My First Webcomic

Filed under: Miscellaneous | 15 Comments

This is my very first attempt at a webcomic/3 panel comic strip! It’s a little rough around the edges, and took a little longer than expected, but I guess I will improve as I get more used to using the software and graphics tablet (this is my 3rd time using it).

It’s entitled: Family

What do you think?

First Post! Woo!

Hi everybody. It’s me, Hudders! I bet you thought you’d never see the day that I was back in a position of power here at Noddegamra Towers, but here I am! Standing tall and stuffing blog posts down your neck like so much pâté and fois gras!

My aim is to bring something different to the blog. I’d like to say that I could inject a modicum of sophistication into the proceedings but I’m afraid that would probably be a lie.

Hopefully you’ll enjoy my contributions. Maybe I can egg Nodd into a competition of out-doing each other? The site would certainly benefit.

Anyway. One of the other things that I will be bringing to the site on a fairly regular basis is a new series of comics I have been hard at work designing for the past few months! I’m going to attempt a weekly schedule at first and then see how that goes. I’m currently using the GIMP for my drawing which is good because it is free and also awesome.

Enjoy the first instalment, which I have made to commemorate my editor-hood:

New Look for 2008!

Noddegamra Update January 2008As you can clearly see, I have finally got round to uploading the new template! So, what do you think? This january update isn’t purely aesthetic though, you can also look forward to some other changes too.

Firstly, regular visitors of the forum will be pleased to know that Hudders has now joined me in providing content for the site. Not only will this mean a fresh perspective to articles, it also means they will be appearing more regularly!

This is all due to the new concept of Noddegamra being a place not only displaying funny stuff from around the web, but we will be hosting our own unique/exclusive webcomics, articles and flash animations.

If you wish to join the team yourself by becoming an author/contributor please feel free to contact me on the forum.

If you have any feedback I will be more than happy to recieve it, please post your comments below. Whilst this is the initial release of the new look, that doesn’t mean I won’t be tweaking a few things to improve the website experience and usability.

Slow Updates

Filed under: Miscellaneous | 4 Comments

As you may have realised, there have been few updates this year (and over the Christmas period). Obviously Christmas is a busy period, so I have little time to come online (that I do get I try to spend talking on the forum).

But what about now? It’s January?

So why the lack of regular and numerous blog posts this month? Well, I have been working hard on the site “behind the scenes”. Most of my spare time has been spent on creating a new template from scratch. I’ve tried to go for something that is more helpful and usable for new and returning visitors such as clear links (and information) to areas of the site such as archives and the forum. I’ve also made it clearer how to make use of the RSS feed.

I’ve tried giving the upcoming template a cleaner look, also making it wider to cater for web-comic strips and flash animations which I plan to create exclusively for this site (also posting ones created by forum members and site visitors). The dropdown menu will also return to help get to important areas of the site.

As for the content, I aim to add more unique articles. I will have to see how this goes at first, creating a unique web-comic every week may be quite tricky, or it might get easier after I’ve done a few, I will have to wait and see. The main thing is I want to try and make Noddegamra unique in content to other sites. That being said, I will still post interesting things I find around the web like great movie trailers, photography and Batman/Joker related stuff. lol ;)

Your Thoughts?

What are your thoughts on the proposed content and template changes? What do you enjoy about Noddegamra and what would you like to see in the future?

Please leave your comments and I will try and include your ideas and suggestions in the update :)

The Lost Star Wars Opening Scenes

This YouTube video shows a “lost” beginning to the original Star Wars movie, and it’s terrible. Apparently these scenes were cut due to “time restrictions”. This is one of the best examples I’ve seen of how editing makes a movie better.

Watch the opening scenes, if you dare…

Radiohead’s Scotch_Mist

Happy New Year!

What better way to start the new year than Radiohead doing a special new year’s eve video for 2007/2008?

In this hour long private taping, Radiohead performs all of the tracks from its newest album, In Rainbows. Other elements include poetry readings and diverse imagery created or selected by the band.

Simply amazing..
