I've been noticing this for a few days now and I wonder if it's just me or if others have this problem as well. When I log in it shows that the GAMING boards have new messages. if I press unread posts since last visit or even all unread posts the it says there are no new messages. If I then go back to the homepage it still shows that there are new messages in that board. If I go to the board it will show me that the child board (WoW) has new messages, so ofcourse I go see what those are (even though I don't play, I just want to have the Noddemon in grey instead of red ) the child board has no new messages and even the dungeons/instances child has no new messages. If I go back to the home page now the Noddemon is grey (yay) but if I come back some 15 minutes later or so and there have been no new posts it will show the Noddemon in red again, but only for the gaming boards and not for any other boards..... Is it just me?

I was going to say something about this.
If there is a new post on the Dungeons/Instances board, it highlights the icon on the front page for Gaming but shows the updated post underneath the icon as the most recent post on the WoW board.
I think that it must be a problem with nested children.

I think it's a bug yes. Since the new board has been added though it could be a corruption of a non-updated cookie or session. Try clearing it so a new one is made. Other than that we will have to wait for the new update. That said however, I haven't noticed the bug in question. It hasn't done this to me yet, there has always been new posts when I've looked. But yes, I don't think it's something I can fix (as in, not really worth the insane amount of effort involved for such a minor bug). vBulletin still looks sexy as a forum option. It's far more robust than this freebie. But yes.. freebies help me sleep at night. So it's a hard call to make.. lol

Well thanks to you I should be able to run vBulletin. I'm going to set it up on a test domain and see how easily I can convert the current forum backup data to go into vBulltein. It's the professional forum software, so hopefully everything will be groovy (and there will be some new helpful features too)

I hope vB does what you expect of it. I've been toying with it on my own domain and it has a very different structure in the menus but it looks nice. I've got an SMF runnig as well so I can be doing those tests as well. Maybe we could collaborate..... I don't know if it's possible to port the templates as is though, I'm thinking it will be the dbase data but not the css and stuff.

Yeah, I'm just going to test vb to see how it works and if it is better than what we currently have. I've used a LOT of vb forums and have always been impressed with them, just havent had the opportunity to actually own one myself as I've always tried free forum software.
If anyone is interested, I can setup a test/dev domain for people to play around with the new forum.
+ I would have to redo the css/templating. Only the data (users, posts, etc) has a chance of transferring.

sent. + its pretty damn good. I've already created my first mod (spoiler tag) in less than 5 minutes! Much easier than SMF!!! I can also easily add extra fields to the profiles. I tested it with Warcraft Character Name

I wasn't meaning in postcount, but in time, I posted quite a lot the last few days/weeks. Seems I've been having more time on my hands lately.
