  • "Logout" button is missing on the home page.
  • Updating details does not work. I changed my name to "Hudders" and whilst it changed on the User Details page, the change has not proliferated throughout.
  • Forum is very slow.

Panic over.

Does this mean the problem only occured once as a glitch? please elaborate.

+ Thankyou for helping test this forum

If the logout button you mean is missing from the home page, check underneath the "Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts." , and it will show Logout listed underneath.  Smiley

I havent noticed the slow speed of the forum yet, but i will keep checking

There are two places you can change your username. If you go to the homepage and click on "Your Details" you get to a page called "Edit Your Details" but anything you change on here doesn't actually follow through to the rest of the forum. In order to change the username, I had to go to "Profile" and edit it from there.

The logout button I was talking about is the one on the homepage. It was failing to display earlier, I think maybe it's an IE thing as I'm on Firefox now ?

So when you went to the forum profile and edited that, it changed everywhere? If so, I will modify the "Your Details" link on the home page.

Also, I will look into logout button problem.

If anyone else comes across ANY problems, please let me know. Everything helps. And I appreciate everyones support so far  Smiley

Can you make the username the name that shows up, rather than the actual name?

It looks like a lot of people are doing what I did for a start and putting their real names into the "name" field which is not necessarily what they want their display name to be.

Case in point, "Chris Baxter" (or atloc for those not already aware).

Ta.

Also, on the main page, the text that tells you which topic was last posted in for each subforum shouldn't have "Re:" in front of it. I presume it is the subject of the actual post rather than the topic name, (and am testing this with the subject of this post Wink)

I tried looking for an option for this last night, but as of yet no luck. lol - So many options, so little time. But you are right. those two changes would improve the forum. It makes more sense.  Smiley

On the news part of the site, the "next >" and "< prev" tags link to the opposite news stories than I'd expect.

I'd expect "next >" to show me more recent news, whilst "< prev" showed me older news. At the moment this is backwards.

Is it possible to add a note telling: "This is the name the others will see when you post and in the memberlist" ? Maybe?

Sorry about that. I've been experimenting with search friendly URLs. For some reason the javascript doesnt interpret it properly. Its all fixed now though as I've switched off SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) until I can work on the fix Smiley
