Right well I got my new PC parts on Wednesday and installed Bioshock yesterday and its awesome.
Like is spiritual predecessor Bioshock is a game with a superb atmosphere that really pulls you in. The setting constantly reminds me of Hudders, 60s steam punk horror! Lol
The graphics are excellent and environments detailed really adding a lot to the game, it doesn’t feel like the graphics are just there for the sake of it they are there to tell a story. The sound as with Systemshock 2 is brilliant, they have kept in the chilling dialog that your enemies mutter to themselves as the walk around, revealing insights into their disturbed minds and sometimes back story. Also filling in details to the story is the diary/log system from the old game, recently also use in Doom3, personally I always loved this bit, the way it drips you information about the back story and certain characters and then finding evidence of these events in your surroundings. The combat/power up system also seems really fun and I can see great potential in it but I only have a spanner a revolver and a lighting attack at the moment and will have to wait until I progress a bit more before I can really get stuck into it.
But the best bit is I have all the settings completely maxed out and I am running it at 1248x1024 with no perceptible lag at all, in fact it runs more smoothly than any game I have played in years (on the pc).
So overall I am hooked and happy!
I give it 9.5/10

Apparently the only thing Bioshock has won awards for is the music. LOL.

Have you got it yet Strange1? If not why not! Mug a granny or something!
Otherwise I will smuggle Shodan into your room at night and she can have her wicked cybernetic way with you.

I compleated it last night, I got the good ending because I saved all the little sisters. Some people probably wouldnt like the ending but I thought it was diffrent and quite touching. Least I can now die free of guilt.
Would be interesting to know what the evil ending was like.
