I'm sorry if it's hard for some people to understand that it's very difficult to stay calm when you keep seeing those images in your head over and over again while you're living with four cats that you love very dearly.

I'm also sorry if I don't appreciate someone's fucked up sense of humour that would make most normal people's stomachs turn. Must be me.

Show me where I've doubted the fact that you're upset about it? Show me where I've disputed the fact that posting those images was wrong? Show me where I've been insensitive about it?

You've got to understand that he didn't realise he'd upset people so much and he didn't make the connection between the torture pictures and the fact that you have cats, (and that the thread was originally about your cat). What he did wasn't deliberately aimed at offending you.

As I've said previously, I don't think it was appropriate for those pictures to be posted and I can see why someone would get upset by them. I'm not condoning his behaviour, I'm just trying to defend him because he can't defend himself.

You are saying that you want to kill him. That's an overreaction; it's not appropriate to make threats like that towards someone. I understand your feelings over this matter but it's just not constructive to discuss ways you'd like to end his life.

Yali is obviously upset, as I felt the image he posted was a statement about her cat. Please stop arguing with each other. I want this to be a sensible discussion about action. It has affected many people. PArt of me is wondering why I bothered. His sig was an attack at me, maybe I should have just deleted him and blocked all ip's, mail accounts, etc related to him.

I did my best but it looks like this'll just end up as an unfair interpretation of events resulting in a permanent ban. There's no justice here, there's no right to reply. Your opinions are the truth and any dissenting words are fallacies.

He's just a guy who read the situation wrong and went too far. You're guilty of that. I'm guilty of that. If you think he was deliberately threatening you and you think that you have the right to defend yourself in the most extreme way possible, then fine. Fair enough. Your forum, you do as you wish.

Everyone deserves their day in court and that's exactly what I've tried to give Sal. My comments to his defence are to put across the other side of the argument, for you to consider before making your judgement. I'm not looking to offend anyone, upset anyone or make any enemies. I just want him to have a fair hearing.

Personally, I'd like him to sit on the naughty step for a few weeks and then come back with an apology but I can't see everyone here excepting that apology. An unfortunate situation, of course.

I've said my piece. I'd rather not be insulted for standing up for someone who is unable to defend themselves and giving their side of the story; someone who knows they fucked up but can't reply for fear of recieving a torrent of abuse in return.

Erm.. not sure how to say this, but I don't have a problem with what you put in his defence. The whole topic is muddled and overcast with a bad atmosphere. It's hard to think and take it all in properly.

I want you to know that I have no problems with you and that I do read into what you say (I try my best, I admit I interpret stuff wrong quite a lot).

I like you a lot, I'm glad I know you, and I admire what you have tried to do.

I think yali is very upset and letting that take over her actions/words etc. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, she is just trying to deal with what has happened. I think she just needs a little bit of time. I think we all do.


What he put was very insulting to me. I will see what happens. He has the ability to email me etc. I don't intend to do a "shoot and ask questions later". I've tried to improve my ways by asking the community what they think to do. Obviously its hard as emotions are running high. But I think together we can plan something.

Right maybe you should put up a poll. with several options concerning the time limit.

• six week two months
• half a year
• permaban

That will give you an indication of what the feelings of this community are.
I am against a permaban because well, to be honest, I kinda like the little sod, he's made me laugh quite a lot while reading this forum and I would think it a shame if he was no longer a part of it.

You could ban him and I wouldn't notice him missing. That is because I'm self obsessed and do not read anybody elses posts apart from my own.

On a serious note though, if he is genuinely apologetic then a permanent ban is to much, so I'd personally go with a three week ban, and if I may add another option to Lazer Neds list; allow us to send him a virus and he willingly install it.
