Lets just say I think Lunicks/Saladin has made an error in judgement and by the tone from our conversations he seems genuinly sorry for it.

I'd hate to see him go (especially if I can get the chance to win more prizes of him )

His attack was aimed directly at me and possibly Yali (although the attack may have been to disturb many). He has not yet made any attempt to apologise to me. He has deeply upset my girlfriend also. At best, I feel his ban is currently still being reviewed.

+ he signed up a seperate account. He could have used that to PM me, or he could have asked one of you for my email address. Trust me, if he wanted to apologise THAT badly, he'd have gone to the incredibly small effort to do so.

Strange 1 is right.

Lunicks has "seemed" apologetic to both Hudders and Lazer Ned, but they wern't really the victims in this. It's a bit like me threatening to kill one of your family, showing pictures suggesting my methods, and then apologising to IronBat's sister.

i also think hudders comment has merit. i really dont think he thought it through at all and probably would have just thought it would be funny in that extreme sort of way that mitch was funny etc. some people took it badly, some however found it funny. in this case he was way off the mark.

also hes probably been reading this thread with the other account hes made and felt very intimidated by the fact weve made a thread all about him and how we are going to go about crucifying him. thats how id feel anyway. im not even sure if i did apologise it would do me any good.

also nodd, and please dont take this the wrong way as i think you are a great bloke, but i feel youve become slightly emotionally involved in this with your girlfriend being effected by this heavily and you yourself saying as well it had a great effect on you as well. in these situations im not sure you can make a fair decision. on the other hand i could be way off the mark here so if i am please ignore this.

on the other hand, if id done this but was very sorry about it and really wanted to come back then id have made every effort to contact you nodd and apologise for my actions etc etc.

yup, it's a tough one 

I'm usually quite a forgiving fellow. I'm finding it a bit tough this time. I seem ok, but when I come back to the subject I get very annoyed. It's difficult to know how to deal with the situation. If a threat like that was said to my face I would have probably acted in quite a violent way.. I really was that pissed off. It's not the right answer, but atleast there would be some sort of closure. It was very sick and completely unnapropriate. It's caused a nasty taint on this place.

I've had more to weigh up that people see. PM's and conversations of people saying stuff like they will leave if I didn't do something about it. It's not easy finding a happy medium on this one. I just hope that I never have to go through this again.

I think some members (myself included) aren't quite ready to face him again yet...

Solution: Keep the ban enforced for now.

I don't see the point in discussing the issue further when all parties are clearly not in a position to move on yet. Give it a month then continue the debate.

I think revisting this in a month's time will just stir up old emotions again. There needs to be an answer now: if it's that you don't want him around now then so be it but let's just be cut-and-dry about this now and quit beating around the bush. I find myself thinking that I wish this whole situation would just go away and I'm sure many other people feel the same.

Why is he banned?
Because he made a very personal and graphic threat to atleast 1 member. Doing that to anyone here, especially the admin, is not too clever.




Why not perminant?
Because everyone makes mistakes. During teenage years you are finding your way in life, seeing where you fit in (or don't) and trying to work out exactly WHO you are. Even I have taken a few steps down path's I shouldn't have, it's what life is all about.

I'm marking this up as one of those "pushing boundaries, but maybe too far" moments. Even I have been guilty of that sometimes. I guess with no set "black and white" rules here it can be hard sometimes to judge where the line is. I think being "shocking" and "outspoken" is part of Noddegamra, but I think it's definately clear now that using that against other members isn't tolerated.

The ban will be lifted, but only after the initial 30 days from the offence. I'm pretty disgusted that I haven't even recieved some sort of apology, so I feel this is fair.

I think your comment about it not being a threat to me is idiotic. I think you are being overly liberal to give you an opportunity to be argumentative. Instead of providing any support you have just used this as another excuse to just attack my personality and judgement.

I don't care what you think an apology will do or not. Lunicks' actions weren't geared towards you, you are barely involved. I'm trying to be good about this. It's not a nice situation to be in.

I'm really not; I'm just echoing what Strange1 said earlier. If you don't think I should have a say in all this then fine but in future just make the decision yourself and don't open it up to a public forum. You either want input or you don't.

I think he will apologise when the ban is lifted. I imagine that he'd want to do it publically so that all parties involved can be privy to the information. I think that if he apoligised to you privately there is a risk that he might make a mistake, (in how he words it, etc), and cause more harm than good; I can see perfectly why he hasn't apologised yet.

I pray that your lenience affords Lunicks some humility allowing him to return to our fold rehibilitated. It is certain that his offences will hang heavy over him for his remaining days here but I hope that, in time, he can be forgiven.
