Hello all nodders Smiley

I am from Finland the promised land of polarbears and penguins.
Im living my last teen year Smiley well, last before one hundred and thirteen.
Im blackhaired weirdo studying computers... so I have lot of free time with internet connection in school too Smiley

I registered here cause I still play NWN on patnix.nl public... hmm sadly still after 5 years I kill my useless time playing NWN on server when there's occasionally a few other players.

Anyway this place seems funny for my sense of humour and interesting for my sense of interest Smiley
And ofcourse I missed Nodde the rule breaking DM from patnix Smiley

My dearest hobbies are typoing (or bad english, I dunno which) and stupid comments Smiley oh and I also like to make fool of myself.

A lot of us are on WoW here if your into online RPG's (although it's not really an RPG, is it? But then again, nor was patnix NWN really...). If you play it yourself, feel free to join us on the european Eonar server  Wink

Welcome, fair Okkim to the mystical land of Noddegamra; famed throughout the lands of Iantairnit for its marvelous mountain vistas and its population of colourful parrots. Twinned with Milton Keynes.

LOL

I don't think anyone would really notice, to be frank.

Scripted quests kind get in the way of RP. To do it properly you'd need a GM hanging around all the time, plotting your demise. I heard about a MMORPG that was in development where everything was generated procedurally so that no two parties have the same experience twice; that lends itself quite nicely to RP, I feel.

My best bit of RP I have ever enjoyed was with the first Baele on a text-only MMORPG. He was a priest and he didn't get very far really; only just got accepted into the priesthood before I got a bit bored with it. There was one time that I stumbled upon two guys who were in deep conversation in a room by themselves; the crux of the conversation was that one of the men was trying to extort the other one because he'd been abusing the rules of the game, (playing two characters at once I think it was):

Mr X: "You know it's against the rules... maybe I'll tell a GM"
Mr Y: "No no! No! Don't, I'll do anything!"
Mr X: "Well maybe for the right price..."

Me: "Afternoon gents."

Mr Y: "How much?"
Mr X: "Sh!"
Mr X: "Hello there, reverend."

Me: "Care to make a donation?" *rattles tin*

Mr X: "Of course!" *gives me 1g*

Me: "Bless you, my son." *toddles off*

If going RP, surely you can only use "/say" and "/whisper" ? Thank god for that.

RP can be fun, but WoW just isn't the place for it.

EDIT: lol, i love that story Hudders  Cheesy  Cheesy

That's probably the reason why WoW doesn't have the best RP servers: Game Masters don't start RP events.
