Dr. Who - Terror of the Zygons followed by
Dr. Who - Pyramids of Mars

This is part of the series where the Dr. is played by Tom Baker (who I think is the best incarnation of the Dr. ever, but I grew up with him and his scarf, so I might be prejudiced)

I love the old Dr. Who series, the acting is terrible, the SFX are lousy (by modern standards that is) but I still love it.

Yes, Tom Baker was the best.

I saw an interview with him and he said he really misses it. He reckons they were the best years of his life and he was really gutted when he had to leave the show.

I can understand that, I mean it was a major part of his life..

Quote
"Doctor Who" .... The Doctor / ... (173 episodes, 1974-1981)
    - Logopolis: Part 4 (1981) TV episode .... The Doctor
    - Logopolis: Part 3 (1981) TV episode .... The Doctor
    - Logopolis: Part 2 (1981) TV episode .... The Doctor
    - Logopolis: Part 1 (1981) TV episode .... The Doctor
    - The Keeper of Traken: Part 4 (1981) TV episode .... The Doctor
      (168 more)

7 years and 173 episodes, not counting movies and special appearances

He was the best, the way he smiled and made his "bug-eyes" when he was surprised, just fun to watch again.. They don't make stuff like that anymore, at least not with actors like him..

He wanted to be cast as the Master in the new series but, as he said he couldn't be bothered watching it, he probably dashed his chances.

What I don't understand is how he got caught up in the D&D movie which came out in 2000. Luckily he only plays a very small part but still, to be seen in something so damn awful
(yes I know, I'm ripping on the D&D franchise here, who'd ever expect it of me...)

He's eccentric, he does what he likes.

He was offered a part in Lord of the Rings but turned it down once he realised he'd have to spend four months in New Zealand.
