The star, who played Mr. Eko on the show, asked producers to release him from his contract in 2006, so he could leave Hawaii - where the drama is filmed - and return home to England.

I really liked Mr. Eko and was pretty gutted when he died. I had no idea he quit and that's why they killed him off, but I think it would be silly to re-introduce him. I'm near the end of series 4 at the moment so I don't know if it's possible. I know the writers seem to make it all up as they go along, and unless this is "realistic" based on the events of series 5 then it's not a good idea. Infact, it is probably too late now as I'm sure they are already filming their final season (6).
