No; I don't think we need to recruit. I think we need to foster community and group synergy amongst the members we already have.

You could add fifty million new members to the guild but if we lost one of our current members in the process, I wouldn't consider it a win.

I'm not saying get more for a purely numerical purpose. I'm saying to try get about 4 more members who are suited to the guild and what we want. That way these larger instances are more feasable. What if we don't get  four new guildies and end up losing the six we rely on for kara?

I think it's healthy to have a few new people trickle in every now and then. Otherwise we rely too strongly on people staying. What if Ding and Pres left? Bang goes our kara healers. What if Joran stopped playing? We need a small pool of people (15 would probably be a good number) so that it makes kara more achievable. You can select a team to handle the instance (It's no good having 9 tanks and 1 rogue for example). It also helps if 2 or 3 people can't make it, there are then people who can then jump in and have a go  Smiley

Sure, you can't do it without more people, but the changes that these would be 14 year old morons who just want to get into kara for the loot are big.

Try writing that again, because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. lol. Cheesy

There are several people already in the guild that haven't been mentioned in this thread who would be fine for kara. People get added to the guild every week. There's no need for a "drive".

Heh, I think you mistake my goals and intentions. I'm not planning to bring total chaos and distruction to the guild. Just saying it would be good to get a few new people in  Smiley Roll Eyes

You see, I’m a guy of simple taste. I enjoy dynamite, and gunpowder, and gasoline! And do you know what they all have in common? They’re cheap.

They make a hell of a good cereal together.

I'm just saying we have a few new people you've probably not even met yet. Wink

No, he joined as "Wix" but then started playing an alt more than his main but didn't actually say that he was now known as "Wyx" until I pestered him about why he wasn't on WoW anymore. He's a RL friend; talks to me plenty. Smiley

The ones I was on about are Drox and uh... I think his name is Shamshel who joined a couple of days ago, (one invited by Pres, one by Dinglen).

The secret to getting good raids is building up a good core raider group, like the "A-Team" if you will.
People that are active and helpful and that want to help the guild progress. When you have those, you can basically take 3-4-5 of those in a raid, and fill the rest up with other people (if NEEDED), or just take as many old-timers as possible.

ive been talking to drox quite alot about getting the guild into raiding. ive said we cant start soon as people are still away and for some we will need to give some sort measure of notice (i.e. planning ahead).

we also need to find out from people in the guild when and where they are free to do any sort of raiding and what specs people play etc.

we figured out that we have 2 tanks (himself and Joran) 2 healers (myself and Presiea, although a third would be more beneficial for a first run. less chance of a wipe if one of the healers goes oom) as well as a few DPS that are definitely ready for it (Baele, Sidius and Dinglen) We just need 2 more DPS to fill in the gaps (a mage and hunter ideally but anything we can get is just as good) and a 3rd healer. we arent really missing alot.
