ok guys i think as no one had taken notice of my suggestions to use group calendar i thought it might be worth it putting up a new topic to try and get your attention Smiley

Group Calendar

ok a few things first. group calendar is incredibly useful to organise instances/group related things as when multiple events are put up on one persons calendar, if you have it configured correctly you will also be able to see it on your calendar as well. this makes organising instances far easier for those either unwilling or who just cant be arsed to sign up to the forum....well ok thats about it but its just so useful for organisation. Smiley

also i think pres and ding and an add-on similar to this one that i dont know about but they swear by it as well for better guild organisation so we should try both if at all possible.

BigWigs

ok this is a mod used primarily in raids to help with bosses with certain abilities. i know we arent raiding yet but it does also include a few bits and pieces for some of the harder bosses in 70 instances/heroics so it does have some use for us.

LittleWigs

To put it simply, these are BigWigs modules that add some warnings to the bosses found in 5-man instances. This is a Third Party addon, and not officially developed by the BigWigs team.

Healbot

not so sure about this one. never really used it but i know healers who swear by it. i do know other healers who dont like it saying it takes the fun out of healing. i can see both sides of the argument. basically makes the whole healing experience alot easier. i think it takes quite a bit of configuring but if you can get it right then its very very nice and very useful.

cant actually think of any others for the time being...i may have already suggested most of these in a previous topic...i cant remember.

Does anyone know how to clear the cache for addons?

AtlasLoot doesn't work for me anymore and BankItems, (shows the contents of my bank, my alts banks and the guild bank), still has deleted characters on it.

i think that might a case if deleting the WTF file in the wow directory. if not then delete the cache file as well. they both get recreated when you start the game up again. if that doesnt fix it you will have to delete your interface file and reload all your add-ons.

I tried that one first.

I'll try messing with the WTF folder tonight.

Deleting your WTF is like deleting all addons and reinstalling then without really having to download them all over. It just deletes the settings, and reloads them automatically when you launch WoW.

Well I'm not doing that! Hopefully I can just delete the WTFs for the addons I want to refresh.

I guess you can do that.

Deleting WTF is usally to fix Interface problems that you don't know where are coming from. I'd recommend just reinstalling the addons.

why not format your hard drive and masturbate all over your keyboard?

(in the blizzard wow repair tool you can set it to clear your addon cache)

I'm not using healbot, i'm using lifebloomer...
but it's for druid hots so it's hardly a general healing addon.

I don't recommend using addons like Healbot and variations of "click-to-heal".
You'll be a much better healer if you learn how to do it without special addons to do it for you, and you don't have to rely on it either.
What I do, is that I make mouseover macros for my healing spells, and bind the 2 most useg ones to scroll up and scroll down. 1-handed healing anyone? Smiley

I don't want to clear the entire cache otherwise I will have to set up all the rest of my addons again, (yes, I'm an addon whore and have far more than my fair share).

You are playing a paladin... you could probably heal by rolling your head on the keyboard.
Seriously... spam flash, occasionaly holy light and/or throw the odd instant heal... oh yes and cleanse ofcourse (why do paladins have 1 dispel spell while most other healing classes have a different dispel for every kind of debuff?)... that's err... 4 buttons... and 2 cooldown skills (one for less mana use and one for forcing a crit heal).

Let me count mine... hmm... rejuv, lifebloom stack refreshing, regrowth, swiftment, abolish poison, remove curse, nature's swiftness, innervate, healing touch... and i need to keep track of hot durations on different partymembers...
Do i really want to do this without an addon? No!
It would be like trying to fly a plane without instruments, possible... but would you like to be a passenger on one?

Don't get me wrong... i'm not saying druids are hard to heal with... but having some timers and a clicking addon makes it so much more relaxed.
