I'm not sure if this is everyones desire, but it is certainly something I am working toward. However, for a casual gamer 5k is a heck of a lot of money (especially with my money-sinking profession choices). I understand people will not want to share their secrets, but hopefully there will be a few tips to help me boost my cashflow even a little. (for example, I had no idea about the dailies on the island north of azeroth - well, how to get there, and when to go there). Ideally I'd like to keep my current professions as I have invested so much into them (and i want the frosted shadoweave set). So what are good ways of making money at level 70? (for a casual gamer). Hopefully these tips will help other guildies too
One way which I make a few gold profit is to buy cheap from AH and re-sell. For example, I bought 3 primals and sold them for 6g more each.

Here are my secrets:
1. Train engineering.
2. Farm primals.
3. Profit.
But also, make sure you do the dailies every day. You only have to spend about half an hour on it and you can get at least 100g in that time.
My biggest money-making tip however is not spending any money. Sounds simple but by keeping all my money, (save about 50g for repairs, reagents, etc), on my bank character I'm not tempted to buy things I perhaps don't need. Get in the habit of sending everything to your bank character and picking up everything that drops from a mob, (the other day I picked up three stacks of netherweave from just one run through Mana Tombs and they all sold within seconds for about 4g each).
Get an addon which will tell you what an item is worth so that you can choose which quest rewards to take if you're not keen on using any of them. As an enchanter, you should get something that'll tell you what they're worth in DE'd materials too.

Thanks Hudders The "bank alt" idea you introduced me to (the pros/cons) has done me very well. I send almost everything I get to him to sell. Stuff that doesnt sell after 4 or 5 times goes back to Sid to be disenchanted. Unfortunately at the moment I still need every tiny little bit of netherweave i can get my hands on. I need tonnes of the stuff to level my skill. So I cant really afford to sell those yet. I'd like to try and do dalies each day as the money is good for the effort required to achieve it. I don't think I can do it every day though. Maybe a couple to a few times a week. Is there any other dalies that are good for quick/easy cash? Just wondering.. 1. Is doing an instance more profitable that farming primals? 2. What primals sell highest on our server? (other than nether, i think it might be fire and shadow? which is annoying as they are the ones i need most for my tailoring..lol)

1. No. Not unless you've got quests in there, (remember, at level70 quests reward with gold not experience, that plus selling the rewards to a vendor should net a tidy profit - of course you have to balance that with repair costs though). Instances are good for rep and gear; profit just doesn't enter into it. 2. Air sells for the highest, followed, (very closely), by water. Earth is not worth farming for whatsoever, (since it turns up so readily in mining veins), but all the others can generate a profit. Don't wait four or five times for green items to sell on AH. Unless the deposit cost is negligible, (and this is where primals are WIN since their deposit cost is less than 50s), you're not going to be making much of a profit after three tries.

- Herbs sell good aswell. As does leather... especially the clefthoof leather is popular. - Disenchant any useless greens and sell the materials you get from them... arcane dust and essences sell within minutes if you put them down at low price. Enchanting materials have NO deposit, so you can keep them up for 48h without extra costs. - The dailies on the island are good money... personally i also do the herb/skinning daily quest, the one in nagrand where you have to wear the funny glasses to detect fiery balls, and also the skettis bombing quest since it is very easy for a druid. Doing dailies in a group makes it less tedious btw... give me invite when i'm online, i'd like to do them too - Instances can make good money, if you do the daily instances... completing a normal daily instance gives you about 16gold, while daily heroic instance gives you 24gold and 2 badge of justice extra. - If you don't care about gear and are doing regular heroics, you can use your badges of justice to buy epic gems and primal nethers/vortexes, which you can then sell for high prices... But personally, i'd like to save them for gear right now, and i think you'd better do the same once you start getting them.

Disenchant crappy, (cheap), greens from the auction house, (eg. "of the whale" items), then sell the mats you get from it.
The key is knowing the difference between the price of the item and the price that the mats will sell for.
At a push, go on a Deadmines run and DE all the drops from there.
EDIT: Also consider crafting some low-level tailoring pieces and disenchanting them I saw a guide as to the best way to do this a while ago... I will try and find it again.

You can also farm primals from mobs, there is the elemental plateau in nagrand, which you can only reach by air (primal water, fire and air), the boglords in zangarmarsh (primal life) and the mana leechers in netherstorm (primal mana).

Go at off-peak times otherwise you'll have a lot of competition. You should level your fishing skill so that you can fish the pure water pools for primal water. Here's the "Crafting to Disenchant" guide I said about in my previous post: MMORPGS.com

1. Do Daily Quests
2. Do more Daily Quests
3. Do more Daily Quests
That's how I got my epic mount on my warlock. You start off with a few quests from 2-3 factions, then you slowly build up rep and can do loads a day. This kind of money is hard to just "save" up.
Also, doing instances is not profittable.

yup. dailies are really the only way to go.
also doing the quests in areas youve not been to before is also highly profitable. possibly more so than dailies as these only give gold. with quests youve not completed you also get green gear which sell for 4-5g each and green weapons sell usually for around 8-10g to a vendor.
also ive seen no point in trying to auction off BoE greens from the outlands as they cost alot (half of what they are worth to a vendor) to put em up and never really sell that well so i suggest vendoring or DEing those as well.

Count the number of base stats on the item, (agi, int, etc). 1 or 2 stats = vendor 3 or 4 stats = AH Easy.

Thanks everyone so far for all your help, advice and tips It would be good to keep this as a "money making tips thread". I'll try and finish more netherstorm and shadowmoon valley before the expansion comes out and makes these "dead zones".

before the expansion comes out
Personally i think it will be a few months more before it will be officially released, plenty of time left.
