I put 50g back in last night + not sure how you feel? Considering I put way more than that into the guild bank anyway? I think I'm easily entitled to do that. I mean, we don't have enough for another bank tab, and I could easily make the money back over the weekend. That's what it's there for. I'd much rather have the epic flyer and enjoy using it over the weekend, than spending it all trying to make the cash, and then not having enough time to enjoy it over the week.

I understand why you did it, I'm sure that having an epic flyer is positively thrilling for you. But I don't think that taking money from the guild bank to fund your personal endeavours is appropriate. Nobody else has that option, (nor should they), and it sends a bad message to those people who might think about donating in the future.
Guild funds should go towards things that benefit the entire guild and not just one member. You do not have to donate gold; if you need money for something such as an epic flyer you should save your own money in your own bank and purchase it with your own funds. You shouldn't donate with the expectation that you can just take the money back again whenever you choose - it's a terrible way to behave.
If someone was taking stuff out of the bank and selling it for their own profit, you'd be up in arms about it. Remember how much you were on my back about taking six stacks of wool out of the bank to level my first aid when you thought I was selling it not so long ago?

I wasn't really on your back. I only asked. That's fair enough.
+ I've donated loads to the bank whilst other members have hardly put in any gold. I also did it at times the guild really needed it, putting it before myself. I think I deserve to borrow on a one-off occasion.
Some people are fine, and others will be bitter. It's just the way it goes. In the end I did it. It's not a huge lump of cash, and as I said I will be putting it back. There's no big deal. If I was going to run off with all the cash then I could have easilly done that when 5k was in there for the 4th tab we had. I'm a trusted member, people know I'm not stealing.
If I deem members trustworthy (like the council members) I have no problem lending gold from the bank for a mount. Loads of other guilds do it. The money is in there for the guild. I'm a member too.

I feel that, ethically, it was an unwise move.
To be honest, I don't see too much of a problem with it in this instance since, yes, it was only 300g and I'm sure you'll put it back. What I see a problem with is the next time. You'll see something that you can't quite afford and, since nobody called you out on it previously, you'll go ahead and use guild funds to benefit yourself. It's a slippery slope.
If you'd asked the guild if they minded the money being borrowed for your purposes, I'm sure we wouldn't be having this conversation. As it is, it feels like an abuse of power.
+ from my point of view you were on my back. If your words make me feel as if you're on my back, then you are. It doesn't matter how you meant it; it's my perception that matters to me and guides my actions.

I hope people know me better than just a guy who abuses his role. I've done a lot for this guild. Stuff which guildies dont even know about, such as when I first helped Joran switch to Prot Spec. I bought him items and enchanted about 200g's worth of stuff on him. Also when I tried to help you get an enchant? I went bankrupt trying to help you out. (although zaph kindly helped me get back on my feet a little bit).
I did think about asking guildies first, I've asked them before about DE'ing some stuff in the bank. I'm not a total cunt you know?
I've been unable to afford things loads of times. The epic flying mount was special to me. I thought it was a nice reward for my efforts. The ability to borrow a measly sum of gold. I could have taken all 750 a few days ago but I didn't. I've offerred other members gold to borrow for their mounts loads of times too.

I find it odd that you complain you haven't got any gold almost constantly and then you manage to rake up 5k despite how little time you spend online and how you decry your choice of professions at every opportunity. It's terrible how you assume that you're the one doing all the good around here. Other members have done their bit too. Way to try and make me feel sorry for "bankrupting you". If you'll remember, I went all the way to God-knows-where to fetch you the recipe for the enchant and I gave you all the mats. I've given plenty of gold and primals to guildies in the past so don't try and throw your "Man of the Year" award in my face. I also find it insulting that you continually take comments as pure abuse. You don't have to be so vehemently defensive all the time. I pointed out why it probably wasn't a good idea in my opinion and you've responded by basically flying off the handle.

HEY HEY HEY HEY Stop the fucking nonsense you two. Maybe Nodd should have asked, but the point is it happened, and he's giving it back. Same goes for you Hudders, you don't have to be so inquisitive about such a little things.
Your little heated argument over 300g is completely ruining the mood.
We're friends, right?
